End-To-End Inbound Chemical to Outbound Waste Tracking:
Safe Use Instructions: Provided tool to simplify building Safe Use Instructions to supplement MSDS Tracking. Enables providing specific information for Spill and Disposal information. Web distribution to users. Minimum keystrokes to differentiate between chemicals that require different management and handling techniques. Typical facilty is able to consolidate 500-5000 chemicals into 50-125 sets of Safe Use Instructions. Creating a new Template only requires 10-50 keystrokes (other than typing the text that appears on the form). Nominated for Chairman's Award at Big 3 Automotive.
Safe Operating Procedures: For Maintenance equipment, provided a tool to simplify building Safe Operating Procedures for different types of maintenance equipment, ties to Preventive Maintenance system and specific Equipment ID's, create a laminated page of instructions complete with a picture of the machine. Successful in getting journeyman maintenance personnel to participate in review of the contents of the SOP's. Next CIP: Media-enabling these using Silverlight.
Hazard Assessments: For Production jobs, provided a tool to simplify building Hazard Assessment Reports for different jobs on the production line, resulting report shows Hazard Types, Body Parts at Risk, and Personal Protective Equipment. Template-based, changing a template identifies what is different compared to almost-similar jobs, minimum keystrokes to create new template. Next CIP: Workflow enabling so that drafts are submitted to the production department for review automatically when a change occurs, integrate with Production Design system so a change to the Production Process triggers review as well as providing "keywords" to identify potential hazards.
Enterprise Software Build-Out to Generic Software Product: Big 3 Automotive, 18-month, 23 programmers, came in on time and under budget, design and build on generic software to provide an enterprise product, distributed to 130 facilities.
Enterprise Architecture, Telecommunications: Evaluate existing EH&S technology and systems for major telecommunications company, recommend how to merge functionality in light of acquisitions.
